  • The Snow Squall Warning remains in effect for Mount Forest, Arthur, and Northern Wellington County ended earlier this morning. 
  • A multi-day snow event with significant weather is still forecasted until Thursday. Conditions can change rapidly, and we encourage you to continue to monitor alerts for your area.

Sunday, December 1 - 8:30 p.m.

  • A multi-day snow event will continue into Monday, with significant weather outlooks forecasted to continue for Tuesday to Thursday.
  • The Snow Squall Warning remains in effect for Mount Forest, Arthur, and Northern Wellington County where peak snowfall rates of 5-10cm per hour could occur. There may be very poor to zero visibility at times in heavy snowfall. 
  • Weather conditions have been changing quickly and we encourage you to monitor local forecasts and road conditions and plan travel accordingly. Wellington County Road Closures will be posted 24/7 at wellington.ca/roadclosures

  • Environment Canada has replaced their Snow Squall Watch for Mount Forest, Arthur, and Northern Wellington County with a Snow Squall Warning.  
  • Local snowfall accumulations near 15 cm are still expected by Sunday evening, with very poor visibility in bursts of heavy/blowing snow. 
  • We encourage you to stay informed and plan travel accordingly. Check local forecasts and road conditions before heading out. Wellington County Road Closures will be posted 24/7 at wellington.ca/roadclosures

Saturday, November 30 - 8:30 p.m.

  • Environment Canada has replaced their Snow Squall Warning for Mount Forest, Arthur, and Northern Wellington County with a Snow Squall Watch
  • Local snowfall accumulations near 15 cm are forecasted by Sunday evening, with possible snow squalls and very poor visibility in bursts of heavy/blowing snow.  
  • The worst of the snow squalls are forecasted remain north of Wellington County, however snow squalls or sudden changes in weather could shift southward through the region on Sunday making travel hazardous.

  • Environment Canada continues to warn of snow squalls affecting Northern Wellington County.
  • The radar indicates snow for most of Wellington County over the weekend. 
  • Stay informed and plan travel accordingly. Check local forecasts and road conditions before heading out.

Friday, November 29 - 2:00 p.m.

  • Environment Canada currently has a Snow Squall Warning in effect for Mount Forest, Arthur, and Northern Wellington County. 
  • Snow is anticipated to begin Friday evening, with local accumulations near 20cm by Saturday afternoon. Very poor visibility in bursts of heavy snow and local blowing snow is predicted. 
  • Snow squalls cause weather conditions to vary considerably; changes from clear skies to heavy snow within just a few kilometres are common. Travel is expected to be hazardous due to reduced visibility. Rapidly accumulating snow could make travel difficult over some locations.
