Wellington County's Recycling Programme Transitioned on July 1, 2025.
Residential recycling is collected in blue boxes weekly in all municipalities. There's no limit to the amount of recyclables that can be placed at the curb.
Please place your residential recycling blue boxes curbside by 7:00 am on your collection day.

Recycling Drop-off

Two-Stream Recycling
Wellington County has a two-stream recycling system using blue boxes:
- Containers made of materials such as metal, glass and rigid plastic go into one blue box
- Paper products and packaging, including clean film plastic, goes into another blue box
Two blue boxes per household are available free of charge; additional blue boxes can be purchased for $10 each at our waste facilities.
What Goes Where?
Find out if your item is recyclable by using the Recycle Coach waste app.

Have a broken blue box?
Take your broken blue box to any County waste facility to be exchanged for a new one for free. You will receive a new large blue box measuring: 21” high x 19” wide x 16” deep.
Smaller sized blue boxes are no longer available, but may be purchased through commercial retailers.
Your broken blue box will be recycled.
My blue bins weren’t collected, what should I do?
Collection crews place stickers on uncollected blue boxes to explain the main reasons for materials being left behind.
If your items were out on the curb by 7:00 am, sorted properly and in a safely accessible area but your collection was missed, please contact WM at canresidential@wm.com or 1.800.561.1655
